Whole-Hearted & Fully Present

After making the commitment & taking action by showing up at boot camp, I’ve been trying to “be all there”, give it my all, & be fully present. I have been trying to do that more in life as well, though I fail often. These days it is far too easy to be distracted & not fully engaged as we always have “the world” at our fingertips with our phones. Some days I try to set aside at least 10 minutes with each kid where I try to be fully present with each of them & let each of them choose something for us to do together & it is amazing to see them come alive with the undivided attention.
While all exercise is good for you, more & more, studies are showing that HIIT (high intensity interval training) is far superior when it comes to heart health & that male lifelong endurance athletes actually hurt their heart more than less active males their age.
If you think about it, in life, we are not made to do anything half-heartedly & when we do the same thing over & over for a long period of time without seeing the results, it is so disheartening. We are made to do things with all our heart, & as we do, it strengthens our heart. Life is not made to be easy. Our pastor said how we are made to take up our cross daily, & crosses are heavy.

At our boot camp, one of the coaches reminds us that we can do anything for 30 seconds so we push ourselves to our max each 30 seconds before our 5 second break. In life, it’s so easy to see the long journey ahead of us or the 40 years to make it “over the hill”, but we just need to take it one day at a time, show up, & be all there. “Anyone can carry their burdens, however heavy, for one day...” We are not made to just exist. We are made to do hard things every day, 6 days/week & in doing them with all our heart, we find our purpose, & gain our strength. #fitspiration #whereveryouare #beallthere #allyourheart #fullypresent
