Beautifully Human

Imperfections are what make us human. They show that we’ve lived, that we haven’t been in a bubble our whole lives. My stretch marks tell stories of beautiful souls that once inhabited my body. My dark circles of sleepless nights feeding & snuggling these precious gifts God has given me.

Saturday mornings are my favorite. 💗 Not gonna lie, I was tempted to use a filter for the first time because it erased my dark circles & imperfections, but then I looked at my flawless little cutie & wanted to remember her exactly how she is without a filter & looked at myself in a new light. Imperfections are what make us human. They show that we’ve lived, that we haven’t been in a bubble our whole lives. My stretch marks tell stories of beautiful souls that once inhabited my body. My dark circles of sleepless nights feeding & snuggling these precious gifts God has given me. I hope that when I start graying-hopefully not too soon-that I’ll see it as a badge of honor for all the wisdom I’ve gained from living & the journey of life God’s led me through. There’s so much beauty in imperfection, in being human, & made in His image. I want to learn to embrace all He’s created me to be & teach my girls that God did a good job on them & thought they were beautiful exactly how He made them. While I enjoy the fun artistry & colors of putting on makeup, my family sees me like this the majority of the time & I don’t want my girls to ever think of that as a bad thing. Bella keeps asking to try on makeup every so often & I keep asking her to wait because she’s so beautiful without it & I tell her it’s better for her skin. I don’t want her to put a mask over her beautiful face. I want her to embrace the real & raw & want her to realize that while makeup might be fun to dress up with, she’s just as beautiful without. Girls, God says that you are fearfully & wonderfully made. He formed you in your mother’s womb & knew you before you were born. He has loved you with an everlasting love & says “you are mine.” He has a purpose for your life. You are no accident. Even if your parents didn’t plan you, He did & as He said about all of His creations, “you are gooood!” (Cue Morgan Freeman’s voice in Bruce Almighty 😜😊). There is nothing you could do to make Him love you more than He already does & nothing you could do to separate yourself from His love. Embrace the love He has for you & walk in it. 🙂 His strength is made perfect in your weakness, & His beauty in your imperfections.
